The Unknowing Vinyl & Poster

Listening to “The Unknowing” is to reflect on the circle of life and what life is constituted of: its ups and downs, what could have been, and what’s not. It’s about the missed opportunities—not regretted but tinged with a sense of longing—yet also about finding joy in what we have had.

The poster is leaning against an iron wall. A second photo is a retouched detail of the poster.

Mandate

The album was composed by N-So, a project created by Nick Angeloni, a low-key electronic composer, audio engineer, pianist, and synthesist. The objective of this project was to create a poster for the concert tour that could be adapted regarding the date, location, and media, as well as the design of a vinyl sleeve and jacket.

Album

N-So created a landscape sparking vivid emotions such as fear, sadness, and hope. The album creates a safe space where we can hide, feel small, and be all right with it. “The Unknowing” is all about the poetry behind making mistakes and trying again.

Brief

To capture the poetic and destructive beauty of The Unknowing, we created a blurred visual to symbolize perpetual movement, a sharp contrast between light and darkness, and a minimalist typographic approach.
